The Management of Akinyele East Local Council Development Area visited the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA).
"The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) is a non-profit institution that generates agricultural innovations to meet Africa’s most pressing challenges of hunger, malnutrition, poverty, and natural resource degradation. Working with various partners across sub-Saharan Africa, we improve livelihoods, enhance food and nutrition security, increase employment, and preserve natural resource integrity."
The Chairman of Akinyele East LCDA Hon. Ayobami Akinpade with members of the Management of Akinyele East was received by The Director General of West Africa Dr. Robert Asiedu.

Hon Ayobami Akinpade congratulated the IITA management board for attaining 50 years of their operation this year and thank them for their plea in restructure the agricultural sector, research development and the advancement they have achieved during this period of time in West African and particularly in Ibadan. Hon. Ayo Akinpade requested for active development of Akinyele East in its Agricultural sector ; likewise empowering the youth in its modern agricultural initiative that is been used to help in alleviating and helping the farmers to actively achieve and gain more from the farming sector.
Consequently, the Chairman requested for adequate collaboration between IITA and Akinyele East LCDA for effective development in the area.

The Director General of West Africa Dr. Robert Asiedu promise to work hand in hand in the development, adequate advice to farmers on how their farming system can be effectively achieved, provision of good seedling for effective output of crops and effective provision of opportunity for youth to go under training for effective farming skill and adequate farming experience in all ramification. The Director General showcase some of the mechanized system being used for producing Garri, Yam flour (Elubo) e.t.c.
